Tripp Antill

BFA: Art with Studio Emphasis in Painting  - Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Minor

Artist Name:

Tripp Antill

Work Title:

The Plant that Needs

Medium:

Steel, organic material

Artist Statement:

I see art as an outlet for my emotions, surviving with the stress of living in our world as we destroy the nature around us. Mother Nature does not have a voice, so I use my art to speak for her, expressing the anguish and frustration I feel alongside her. With this final project I insert myself into the scene with the relationship I have between metal and nature. Art is a powerful tool that can be used to help those who cannot express themselves, which is why I create. Creating a relationship of holding the plant up while destroying the host plant. Witness as they ebb and flow together finding harmony or distance.
